coaching for people in the arts and beyond
My coaching follows a natural development from the work I have been doing over the past 6 years. Living and working as an artist is the starting point of my approach to coaching and I am looking to support those who are working as artists, have a creative pursuit or running a creative business.
I am a Relational Dynamics 1st Accredited coach (having graduated in 2018) with a commitment to clean, non-directive coaching. At the moment I am running coaching sessions in exchange for feedback as I increase my experience.
I am based in Edinburgh and have a studio at Rhubaba Gallery and Studios in Leith. You can find out more about the work I make here. I have worked on the committee at Rhubaba for 3 years, working in a non-hierarchical team, producing the gallery’s programme and running the studios. I have also worked in Higher Education, supporting art students on the technical and conceptual aspects of their projects.
I think coaching can be a powerful tool to help artists and creative people in their work. This is because coaching wholly supports the thinking process of the person being coached – the coachee. With no interruptions, deep and attentive listening and effective questioning, coaching is a transformative process which increases self-awareness, confidence and resilience.
